Childcare COVID Guidelines

SITE ARRIVAL

1. Parent completes health pre-screening before leaving home.

2. Curbside Check-in

3. Staff check child temperature >> if above 99.8, child will not be allowed to stay and must remain fever-free for 72 hours before returning

4. Child washes hands upon entering the building

MEALS/SNACKS

1. Child washes hands

2. Tables are cleaned before AND after meals/snacks

3. Children sit six feet apart

4. Prohibit sharing food and utensils

STAFF HEALTH

1. Staff’s temperature checked upon arrival >> if above 99.8, staff will be not be permitted to work and must remain fever-free for 72 hours before returning

2. Staff wear a facemask

3. Wash hands throughout the day, before and after activities

4. Additional training on EPA and CDC-approved workplace disinfection

SAFE ENVIRONMENT

  • Maintain a 1:12 ratios of staff:children
  • Each group of 12 children will remain with the same counselor and children each day (minimal mixing of groups)
  • Each child’s belongings will be kept separated in individually labeled storage containers
  • Children will be given their own supplies for activities
  • Stagger activity times to limit mixing of groups in one space

DAILY SCHEDULE

  • Maintain social distancing by marking spaces on the floor and spacing children out at tables
  • No busing between sites or taking field trips
  • Staff clean areas after use by each group by wiping down tables, door handles, light switches, faucets, equipment, toys and games
  • Use refillable water bottles to avoid close contact with water fountains
  • Keep children at a safe distance while waiting in line
  • Deep clean all surfaces and areas used each day
