Our YMCA believes that our community should grow stronger together by hosting a number of health initiatives and events that support our community in spirit, mind, and body.
The YMCA Series of Races is a three race series designed to challenge and motivate. Series scoring for these events also presents a great opportunity for additional prizes and personal achievement.
The Series includes:
- YMCA 5K/10K – August
- YMCA 15K – September
- Evansville Half Marathon – October
This event takes place at beautiful Scales Lake Park in Boonville. The sprint distance is .5 mile swim, 15 mile bike and 5K run, olympic distance is 1 mile swim, 25 mile bike and 10K run and the duathlon (new this year) is 1K run, 15 mile bike and 5K run. The courses are very shady and scenic with rolling hills and low traffic.

The YMCA Coaches Luncheon is held each November to highlight the U of E Basketball program and generate funds for YMCA Youth Programs. Patrons are treated to lunch, camaraderie and a talk given by both the men’s and women’s coaches, followed by a question and answer period. This event was started in 1990. Corporate tables as well as individual tickets are available for the luncheon.
YMCA Golf Outing
The “Play-a-Round for The Y” Golf Outing is held every year in the spring. The “four man” scramble event brings out many avid golfers and friends of the Y. Many great sponsors make this event an ongoing success. Golfers are treated to a “prize on every hole”, a chance to putt for cash, food and gifts, and the fun and friendship that playing golf for a worthy cause can bring.
