At the Y, strengthening community is our cause and as a result the Y makes accessible the support and opportunities that empower people and communities to learn, grow, and thrive. With a focus on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, the Y nurtures the potential of every youth and teen, improves the community’s health and well-being, and provides opportunities to give back and support neighbors.
Our Y is, and always will be, dedicated to building healthy, confident, connected, and secure children, adults, families and communities. Every day our impact is felt when an individual makes a healthy choice, when a mentor inspires a child, and when a community comes together for the common good.
There is no other nonprofit quite like the Y. That’s because we have the presence and partnerships to not just promise, but to deliver, lasting personal and social change. The YMCA serves the entire community and is open to everyone. Donors enable the YMCA, a charitable, non-profit organization in compliance with IRS code 501(c)3.
The Y served more than 23,450 people of all faiths, backgrounds and incomes.
Helped build character in 9,200 youth last year through programming at more than 54 locations and partner sites.

The YMCA Youth & Government program instills a sense of civic duty among today’s youth, allowing kids to see the inner workings of our legislative process. Our delegation of students continues to be the biggest in the state of Indiana.
The YMCA Outreach Branch meets the needs of over 1,950 youth in 39 programs across 25 schools every year in our community. Our CenterPoint Energy YMCA program site serves hundreds of youth in the Glenwood neighborhood.
When you think about summer day camp, you probably have images of children playing tag, kickball and swimming. You may not immediately think of activities like science and reading when you think about summer day camp, but our camps are structured very intentionally to help kids learn, discover, and thrive with STEM learning.
Responding to a community and larger societal need to bring more young women and minorities to the field of STEM, the YMCA integrates STEM learning into its various outreach programs as well as partners with local schools to create learning opportunities for kids.
The College and Career Readiness (CCR) program is an after-school program, serving 5th-9th grade students. It focuses on career exploration, post-secondary planning, and character building.
