We have a number of opportunities for you to reach your goals on your own or by connecting with others. From cardio to cycling to yoga to youth exercise, we have plenty of options for anyone to get started toward improved health.
We have hundreds of group exercise classes available FREE for members every week. Whether you’re looking for water or land-based classes or varying intensity levels, we have a class full of supporters and instructors that are ready to motivate and encourage you on your wellness journey.
“Physical exercise has some value, but spiritual exercise is valuable in every way, because it promises life both for the present and for the future.”
1 Timothy 4:8
At the YMCA of Southwestern Indiana, we’re always seeking ways to better serve our community. Please take 2-3 minutes to fill out this group exercise survey and let us know how we’re doing. Thank you in advance for helping us improve our group exercise offerings.
Here are some special fitness events we’ve got coming up. We hope you can join us!
Yep, and we’ve got hundreds of them available at our locations. There’s something for everyone!
Some of our exercise classes do have capacity limits like cycling or yoga. Those classes do require a reservation, which you can make online in the group exercise schedule below or through our mobile app. Reservations start 3 days before the class start time up until the class begins. Guests may attend classes, but members have priority. You must have an account with us in order to make a reservation.
“Warm” indicates a modified temperature of 80-85 degrees, and “Hot” indicates both a humidity and temperature modification to 100+ degrees. If a class does not have a “Warm” or “Hot” designation then no temperature changes are made in the studio.
Drink plenty of water and eat light healthy meals. Avoid large meals 1-3 hours before the class. Have a small snack for energy. Limit caffeine before Yoga class and plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to class to allow your body time to acclimate to the temperature of the room.
Wear light stretch, breathable clothing and bring a large bottle of water. Please bring a large towel and a Yoga mat. Towels must be large enough to cover your entire Yoga mat. Bring dry clothes to change into after class. We do have a few Yoga mats available at the Y. Do not wear socks or shoes into the Hot Yoga Studio.
