Did you know the YMCA of Southwestern Indiana trains more lifeguards than any other local organization? We take safety around water very seriously to ensure that everyone can enjoy a splash of fun in the water.
The LGI course will include the following. Lifeguarding Program Review, Administrative Updates/Information, Written Exam, Skill Practice, and Polish Session including in-water skills, drills, and Multiple-Rescuer Response scenarios You will receive certification for the American Red Cross r24 Lifeguard Instructor Trainer. You must have completed all of your online coursework before attending your class. On March 22nd and 23rd - we will meet from 8am to 5pm We will meet to assess skills on February 23rd at 9am
This course recertifies lifeguards in Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer all in one class. Individuals with a current Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED certificate may participate in this review course. Please make sure you review where your course is being held. There are classes at the Ascension St Vincent YMCA, and the Deaconess Aquatic Center. You must provide proof of current certification to participate in the recertification course.

Participants must be 15 years of age on or before the final scheduled session of the course. This Deep Water Certification Class is held at Ascension St. Vincent YMCA. The class must be paid in full before the first day of the class. Class times are as follows: Saturdays 12-6 pm, Sundays 8-2pm, Weekday classes 8-4:30pm Contact hpolley@ymcaswin.org or call 812.423.9622 if you have any questions.
