Let’s Learn to Sew! In this class, we’ll dive into the basics of using a sewing machine—no experience needed! The Y will have a few machines available, but if you have your own, bring it along! It's a great chance to get comfortable with how your specific machine works. We’ll start with simple projects and gradually take on more complex creations as your skills grow. While we won’t be sewing clothes, we will be making fun and functional “non-wearable” items you’ll be proud to show off! Along the way, you’ll pick up essential sewing lingo, learn how to read and follow patterns, and get hands-on practice with ironing techniques to press seams like a pro. Little Stars Reader's Theater!  Get ready to act, laugh, and bring stories to life! In this imagination-packed class, your little one will step into the spotlight as part of our Reader’s Theater crew! Each month, we’ll learn and perform a new story together — starting with the classic "The Little Red Hen!"  Kids will be assigned fun roles to act out while a narrator reads the story aloud. Think dodgeball with a surprise, tag like you’ve never played before, and team challenges that’ll keep you on your toes!  Whether your kid’s a solo superstar or a team player, there’s something here for everyone. Get ready to wiggle, giggle, and jam!  Welcome to Music in Motion — where the beats are loud, the energy is high, and yes… parents have to play, too! This isn’t a “sit back and scroll your phone” kind of class. Nope! We want you singing, dancing, shaking, stomping, and making joyful noise right alongside your little one. Together, we’ll build language skills, social confidence, and unleash the power of imaginative play — all while having a blast. Expect drumming, wild movement, spontaneous singalongs, and just the right amount of chaos (the fun kind).  It’s loud. It’s active. It’s messy. It’s music, learning, and connection in motion. Sparkle With Every Line!  Reader’s Theater for Ages 6–7 Lights, voices, action! In this joyful Reader’s Theater class, kids will shine with every line as they bring beloved stories to life through performance and play. Each month, we’ll dive into a new script based on classic fairy tales and rich, imaginative picture books — perfect for inspiring creativity and expression! Young actors will be cast in fun roles to act out each story, and those who want to narrate can step into the storyteller’s shoes too! Whether on stage as the Big Bad Wolf or behind the scenes crafting a magical forest, every child will be part of the magic. We’ll also design simple props together, adding our own sparkle to every scene. Perfect for budding performers, big imaginations, and kids who love a good fairy tale twist!  Let your voice shine — one line at a time!

We’ll kick things off with a cheerful welcome song to set the mood, then gather in a cozy circle for storytime. From talking animals to magical lands, we’ll dive into delightful tales that spark curiosity and creativity. After the story, we’ll chat about what we’ve heard—learning how to take turns, share ideas, and really listen to one another (all while having fun!).                                                    Then it’s time to get crafty! Inspired by the story, students will create their very own art projects. With guidance from the teacher—and plenty of room for personal touches—each masterpiece will be as unique as its maker. We’ll end our time together at the tables, happily crafting away while building fine motor skills and storytelling connections. Strength Training for Teens  Tired of sitting on the sidelines? Ready to get stronger, feel awesome, and learn how to lift like a pro? Our Strength Training for Teens program is your all-access pass to the world of weightlifting — the right way.  We’ll teach you how to use free weights, machines, and resistance bands safely and effectively (no guesswork or gym fails here ). You’ll build total-body strength, boost your coordination and muscle endurance, and maybe even discover muscles you didn’t know you had.  Oh, and bonus: stronger body = stronger confidence.  Healthy habits start here — and we make it fun. Ready to take your swimming to the next level?  Swim for Fitness Prep is the perfect step between swim lessons and Swim for Fitness. This class focuses on building endurance, confidence, and refining strokes—while still keeping things fun and engaging! What You’ll Do: Practice and improve Freestyle & Backstroke technique Learn basics of Breaststroke & Butterfly kicks Work on endurance with short sets and drills Build water confidence through team games and fitness activities Requirements to Join: Swim a 25 Freestyle (with side breathing) & 25 Backstroke Tread water for 30 seconds Comfortable in deep water This class gets swimmers prepared and excited for the full Swim for Fitness program!   Make a splash while getting fit! Swim for Fitness is a fun, low-impact way to boost your endurance, build strength, and torch calories—all in the water.
